When Should I First Bring My Child to Visit a Dentist?
Ideally, a child should first see a dentist by age two. This may seem rather early, but it is the perfect opportunity for a young child to become accustomed to a brand-new environment and to begin learning that dental check-ups are just a routine event. At this tender age, a dental checkup is simply an opportunity for our dentist to gently look inside your child’s mouth, just to ensure their teeth and jaws are developing correctly and to talk to you about their dental care at home. Dental education is extremely important to our practice and we can work with you, ensuring you have the knowledge required to keep your child’s teeth healthy, strong and cavity-free.
We hope your little one will simply be curious about seeing a dentist, but we also know visiting any new place can initially be overwhelming, which is why our staff will do everything we can to ensure your child’s experience is as pleasant and as enjoyable as possible. Our dental team is extremely experienced in helping children comfortably receive dental care. It is a huge advantage for a child become accustomed to regular preventative dental care and this can potentially avoid common dental problems, fears and phobias.
