How to Keep Your Skin Healthy This Winter

The cooler weather can play havoc with your skin, drying it out and stripping it of its natural oils. We’ve listed five simple things you can do to help keep your skin looking and feeling healthy this winter.

  1. When it’s cooler outside it’s tempting to take a very hot shower. Instead, turn down the temperature and apply a thick moisturiser a few minutes afterwards. This helps to seal moisture in the skin.
  2. Using the wrong soap or shower gel can worsen itchy skin and many popular brands contain fragrance. Instead, choose a brand that is moisturising and fragrance-free.
  3. Adjust your facial skin care regime for winter. Use any astringent toners sparingly, and switch to a richer moisturiser.
  4. Don’t forget to moisturise your lips and carry a lip balm with you.
  5. Use a moisturising sunscreen, as even on a grey day the sun can still penetrate the clouds.
